Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Cowboys' win over the Buccaneers wasn't pretty, but a win is a win and it was enough to rank Dallas in the upper half of NFL power rankings.

The Dallas Cowboys are slowly climbing the NFL power rankings, aided by Sunday's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At 2-1 the Cowboys got by the Bucs on defensive strength, and it was enough to rank them within the upper half of the league. With a Monday night game against the Chicago Bears up next, they have a great opportunity to demonstrate whether or not this team is capable of big things.

Joel Thorman of SB Nation's power rankings have the Cowboys 14th, up one spot from last week's No. 15. At ESPN.com the Cowboys moved up three spots from last week's No. 15, sitting 12th in the rankings. Yahoo! Sports' MJD was the hardest on Dallas, ranking them 16th.
