Cowboys Training Camp: Dallas Is Having Offensive Line Issues

The Dallas Cowboys are basically calling in any offensive lineman they can find and bring them in for a try out during training camp. Currently the Cowboys are down four offensive lineman to various injuries with guard Nate Livings sitting out Friday's practice with a hamstring injury, guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and Kevin Kowalski have not practiced at all in camp while Bill Nagy is out with a high-ankle sprain that he suffered earlier in the week.

The Cowboys brought in three offensive lineman who played for them last year in Derrick Dockery, Montrae Holland and Daniel Loper. With those players familiar with the system they were able to proceed as planned in practice and not spend time teaching them the plays.

The one positive that the Cowboys are taking from this is that if Dockery, Holland and Loper have to play a role in the regular season they are getting valuable practice time:

"It's a good thing that a lot of these guys are getting a lot of work and a lot of reps, not only in the drills but the team situation and it's great exposure, so they get an appreciation for what the other guys have to do," said offensive line coach Bill Callahan.

The trio they brought have a decent amount of NFL game experience with 182 combined appearances, plus at this point the Cowboys can not be picky.
