Stay connected for news and updates

The Dallas Cowboys have taken a 20-6 halftime lead into the locker room at home against the Miami Dolphins.

The Cowboys took control with 11:36 left in the second quarter when linebacker Orie Lemon stepped in front of a Matt Moore pass and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown. The touchdown put the Cowboys up 10-6 and punctuated a tough night for Moore, who left the game after throwing just 3-10 for 34 yards.

Dallas upped the lead to 17-6 with 4:46 left in the half on a deliberate 10-play, 83-yard drive capped by a one-yard Phillip Tanner touchdown run. Tanner rushed nine times for 48 yards in the half. Quarterback Stephen McGee was 9-18 for 124 yards, and engineered another late drive that led to a field goal as time expired.

The Dolphins went up 6-0 in the first quarter on two Dan Carpenter field goals before surrendering the lead.

In the final preseason game for both teams, the Cowboys are looking to pull even at 2-2, while Miami is on the verge of going winless.
