Cowboys Waive Bill Nagy Following Ankle Surgery

Stay connected for news and updates

The Dallas Cowboys have placed center Bill Nagy on the waived/injured list on Wednesday. Nagy is expected to clear waivers, which will automatically place him on the injured reserve list.

Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports that Nagy also underwent ankle surgery on Wednesday. Nagy had suffered a high left ankle sprain in the first practice at this year's training camp, cutting short his hopes of competing with Phil Costa for the starting center job in 2012.

It is still possible that the Cowboys could reach an injury settlement with Nagy somewhere down the line and attempt to bring him back in 2013. Nagy was a seventh-round pick for the Cowboys in 2011 and played in four games.
