Morris Claiborne Will Not Be Ready For Dallas Cowboys Minicamp

Stay connected for news and updates

Morris Claiborne, the defensive back the Dallas Cowboys traded up to take with sixth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, won't quite be ready for the team's mandatory minicamp in June because he will still be recovering from surgery on torn ligaments in his wrist, according to the team.

Claiborne has been able to participate in team workouts on a limited bases since having pins removed from his wrist last week. The Cowboys do expect for Claiborne to be fully healthy when training camp rolls around in July and definitely for the start of the season. Dallas is going to rely on the rookie, along with a host of free agent signings on defense, to help improve a unit that gave up around 244 yards a game in 2011.
