NFL Draft 2012: Cowboys Move Up To No. 6

The Dallas Cowboys made a shocking move on draft day, moving up eight spots from No. 14 to No. 6 in the first round and giving up their second-round pick in the process in order to grab LSU CB Morris Claiborne.

The Cowboys had targeted Claiborne, the clear-cut No. 1 CB on the draft board, as the best way to upgrade their defensive backfield. Dallas also added the top CB in free agency, Brandon Carr, as well, replacing both CB's from a defense who gave up four double digit leads in 2011.

It was the fifth trade in the top six picks of the first round, as the rookie wage scale has made teams more willing to move up and down the draft.
