Former Dallas Cowboy Terence Newman Signs With Bengals

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Terence Newman has found a new new home and has signed a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Cowboys released Newman in March after former No. 5 overall 2003 draft pick had a poor 2011 season.

The Bengals are hopeful that Newman getting back together with Mike Zimmer who was the Cowboys defensive coordinator from 2000-06 and coached Newman for four years which were the best of his career. The contract is for only one season which is essentially an audition for the Bengals and have Newman prove he can still play at a high level.

Over at SB Nation's Bengals blog Cincy Jungle they like the signing as it gives them seven defensive backs and strengthens that position for them.
