The Dallas Cowboys have hired former defensive tackle Leon Lett as an assistant defensive line coach, according to multiple reports.
Last season, Lett helped with the Cowboys defensive line last season during training camp and periodically during the season. As an assistant coach, Lett is brought in to help out defensive line coach Brian Baker in working with the squad's younger players.
Lett was with the team in training camp last season as part of the NFL's Minority Coaching Fellowship Program and sometimes worked with players at Valley Ranch during the season, according to the Dallas Morning News. Head coach Jason Garrett was reportedly impressed with how Lett worked with Clifton Gathers and others, so he made the decision to create this position specifically for Lett.
