Browns vs. Cowboys score update: Cleveland leads, 13-0, after 1st half

Ronald Martinez

The Browns defense has shut down Tony Romo and the Cowboys after one half in Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys are once again off to a sluggish start at home, as the underdog Cleveland Browns lead 13-0 after one half in Arlington. Cleveland is playing without their best cornerback, Joe Haden, but the Cowboys offense and Tony Romo have been unable to get anything going. The Dallas offense managed just 68 yards of total offense, with the Cleveland D consistently forcing three-and-outs. Brian Moorman had a workout in the first half, punting it away five times as the Browns controlled the game through the first 30 minutes. Felix Jones is averaging less than three yards per carry, and Romo is 10 of 17 for 74 yards.

Cleveland had multiple red zone opportunities, but only came away with one touchdown. Brandon Weeden hit veteran tight end Ben Watson over the top in the middle of the end zone for an early 7-0 lead. One of the league's most reliable kickers and Texas alum, Phil Dawson, added two field goals in the second quarter for the Browns. The second, a 47 yarder, came after Watson had a crucial drop to halt the Browns drive.

The Browns will receive the kickoff to start the second half. The Cowboys offense will have to get something going in the third quarter to get back in it against a 2-7 Cleveland team.
