Cowboys vs. Eagles: Philly unable to survive Michael Vick's injury

Michael Vick was lost to a concussion, and the Philadelphia Eagles couldn't rally behind rookie quarterback Nick Foles to beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

When starting quarterback Michael Vick was knocked out of the Eagles' game against the Cowboys with a concussion, Philadelphia fans finally got their chance to witness rookie quarterback Nick Foles in regular-season action.

Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid said that Vick is still the Eagles' starting quarterback if he's able to return, according to The Washington Post.

Foles had a strong start, but in the end, the same problems that had plagued Vick returned with the rookie under center, and the Eagles fell 38-23 at home. Foles threw an touchdown soon after entering, and Philadelphia led 17-10 in the third quarter. Dallas tied it going into the fourth, and that's when the Cowboys started taking advantage of the Philly mistakes.

Less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, Dwayne Harris returned a punt for a 78-yard touchdown, taking advantage of the first of many miscues by the Eagles. Foles threw a pick-six to Brandon Carr just a few plays into the ensuing drive, and down 31-23 with less than a minute left, the quarterback took a sack that resulted in a fumble and another Dallas score.
