Fantasy football Week 10: Start Dallas skill players with confidence

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

Tony Romo, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant are obvious must-starts in Week 10, as the Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, in what can easily be seen as a do-or-die game for both teams. Both the Eagles and the Cowboys enter the game with a 3-5 record, and whoever loses will likely be on the outside looking in come January.

Fantasy football teams may be under the same pressure this week -- especially since fantasy regular seasons are shorter than the 17-week NFL season. Owners with some of the Cowboys skill players should be smiling this week, as Dallas' (presumed) do-or-die mentality could make for a solid fantasy day.

Philadelphia's defense is in the middle of the pack, as the Eagles rank No. 14 in pass defense, giving up an average of 229.4 passing yards per game, and No. 16 in rush defense, giving up on average 114.1 yards per game.

Owners with Tony Romo should start Romo with confidence, as the Cowboys should employ a pass-heavy attack, with DeMarco Murray still sidelined. Dallas' pass offense averages 299.1 yards per game, good for No. 3 in the NFL. Unless you've got somebody like Tom Brady on your team, you should be starting Romo with full confidence.

Likewise, Dez Bryant and Miles Austin should also start. Bryant is the clear WR1, as he has become Romo's favorite wide receiver to throw to. Austin, though, still boasts solid WR2 potential, and should be in starting lineups.

Kevin Ogletree, meanwhile, is a risky play, and a flex play at best. Though Ogletree has been productive in Dallas' wins, he's been a ghost in Dallas' losses, and there's no reason to believe that he'll be a consistent player.

Jason Witten is a must-start as well. Witten has seen at least seven targets in each of the last five games, and has received 14 and 23 targets in that time span.

Felix Jones, meanwhile, is a risky play. Jones will receive the bulk of the carries as Dallas' primary running back with Murray out, but the fact remains that Jones simply isn't good. He's a flex play with RB2 potential this week -- at best.
