The Cowboys locked up a potential long term starter at corner by signing free agent to be Orlando Scandrick to a five-year extension for $27 million, according to Adam Schefter.

Cowboys and CB Orlando Scandrick have reached agreement on a 5-year extension worth $27 million, including $10 million guaranteed.
Calvin Watkins, however, reports the total at $25 million.
Scandrick is scheduled to be a third corner this season, but with Terence Newman essentially missing all of training camp and Mike Jenkins out with a shoulder stinger for most of it, they’ve gotten a good look at Scandrick as a starter.
Dallas presumably didn’t want to face a 2012 summer with an aging Newman, an uncertain Jenkins, and a free Scandrick, so they now have one of their presumed starters locked up moving forward.
