Former Cowboy Roy Williams Signs With Chicago Bears

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams wasn't unemployed for too long. The former Texas Longhorn and Cowboy was signed by the Chicago Bears on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Williams was certainly a bust with the Cowboys, as he never lived up to the price that was paid to acquire him. Then again, Williams never really had a chance to live up to that price as pretty much everybody and their dog knew that Dallas had grossly overpaid for Williams. Dallas surrendered a first, third and sixth round pick in the 2009 draft as well as a seventh rounder in the 2010 draft to acquire Williams.

In his 40 games with the Cowboys, Williams caught 94 passes for 1,324 yards and 13 touchdowns, spanning three seasons.

It's quite possible that Williams will thrive in Chicago since he's being reunited with pass-happy offensive coordinator Mike Martz and a loose cannon quarterback in Jay Cutler. Dallas still made the right decision in letting him go, though.
