Dallas Cowboys' Felix Jones Expected To Play Against Redskins, But Not As Starter

The Dallas Cowboys should be getting former starting running back Felix Jones back this week from injury for their divisional matchup with the Washington Redskins. Jones, who has been sidelined for the last four weeks with a high ankle sprain, should be ready to go according to Cowboys head coach, Jason Garrett. via espn.com

We just want to get (Jones) back into action," Garrett said Monday. "He's been a really good football player for us the past few years, a dynamic player both in the run game and the pass games. We just want to get him some touches."

Jerry Jones went a little further in explaining the role that Jones will have on this offense with DeMarco Murray flourishing in his absence. via 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

"You think of that theoretically about a workhorse running back (Murray), that they get better as the game goes along." Jones then added "Felix – and this is not negative in any way, but Felix has always been a guy that looks like the best way for him to be his best is to inject him in spots. So we may have a guy here in Murray and we may have a guy here in Felix who can step in there 12, 13 times a ballgame and really have a chance to break it."

The Cowboys have won two in a row and trail the New York Giants by just one game in the NFC East division.
