Instead, Witten will be a game-time decision for the Cowboys opening day game against the New York Giants on September 5, the first game of the 2012 NFL season.
Over the last eight seasons, Witten has missed only two regular season games while becoming one of the most dependable pass-catching targets in the NFL. In 2011, he had 79 catches, 942 yards and 5 TD's.
