Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year Quincy Miller will return to Baylor for his sophomore season, he announced today.

After a string of bad news, the Baylor men's basketball program finally got a dose of good news as forward Quincy Miller has decided to return to school for his sophomore year. Miller announced his plans at a press conference Tuesday. From the Baylor Lariat:

"I talked to my mother, my mother thought I needed to come back," Miller said. "I definitely prayed about and I feel like this is the best decision for me.

On Monday, ESPN reported Baylor's men's and women's basketball programs were facing NCAA penalties for impermissible phone calls and text messages. Later that day, it was reported that Perry Jones III would declare for the NBA draft.

Now that Miller is staying, Baylor's program doesn't have to worry about a major drop-off, with three starters returning. This season, Miller averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as the Bears reached the Elite Eight before falling to eventual-national champion Kentucky. Miller was named Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year.
