March Madness 2012: NCAA Tournament South Region Recap And Analysis

The Baylor Bears may have taken care of business against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, but the Bears in their highlighter uniforms hardly highlighted Thursday night's second round action in the South region.

Sure, Baylor responded after falling 19-7 in the first seven minutes against South Dakota State when they finally realized they were bigger and strong so there was no reason to play a zone defense. But no one really had Baylor losing this game except Seth Davis.

So it came as no surprise when the Bears started banging on those Jackrabbits. The story had to have been the Iowa State Cyclones taking down the Connecticut Huskies in bracketbuster fashion, who were probably in the tournament off reputation anyway.

Iowa State took it to UConn and defeated them 77-64, led by 20 points from Chris Allen who scored his last 14 from the free throw line. Now the Cyclones have to go through the Kentucky Wildcats, the highly considered the most talented team in the country.

The Bears face Colorado, which upset UNLV on Thursday, for a chance to go to the Sweet 16.
