At the break Baylor trailed Kentucky 42-22. Baylor made a small dent in the second half but lost 82-70.

In the second half the closest Baylor could get would be within 10 points and that was with under one minute left in the game. As for Kentucky they shot 54 percent from the field and went to the free throw line 44 times while making 30. Baylor Vs. Kentucky Elite 8 Preview: Bears Need Big Game From Brady HeslipTo Upset Wildcats

Baylor may have played against run and gun teams such as Missouri during Big 12 play, but that will be taken to another level on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta as the Bears will face the 35-2 Kentucky Wildcats.

Perry Jones III and Quincy Acy have the athleticism to keep up with Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, but the key for the Bears will be their outside game will have to be productive enough to allow Jones III and Acy to avoid being double teamed in the paint.

Brady Heslip and Pierre Jackson will need to hit big shots for the Bears to be in this one at the end.

Defensively Acy should be able to hold his own against Davis, but the biggest trouble for the Bears may very well be 6'8" guard Darius Miller. Baylor hasn't played against many teams with a player of his size in the backcourt.

Expect this game to be full of high intensity and played at a fast pace.

NCAA Tournament 2012, Baylor Vs. Xavier Final Score: Quincy Acy's Monster Night Helps Bears Advance To Elite 8 With 75-70 Victory

Behind a electrifying 20-points, 15-rebound performance from senior forward Quincy Acy, the No. 3-seeded Baylor Bears defeated No. 10 Xavier Musketeers, 75-70, in a NCAA Tournament, Sweet 16 contest in Atlanta, Ga. The Bears (30-7) advance to face either No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats or No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers in the South Region final on Sunday.

The Musketeers (23-12), who trailed by as much as 18 points earlier in the first half, trailed 55-50 with 8:12 remaining in regulation. A small 5-0 run by Baylor, which included four points form Acy, pushed Baylor's lead back to double-digits, 60-50, with 4:14 to go.

In the end, Xavier was able to trim the Bears' lead to 71-68 with less than 30 seconds to play, however, sophmore guard Brady Heslip netted four of his 12 points at the free throw line in the final seconds to cement the victory. Xavier, probably, could have complete the comeback but struggled from behind the 3-point line all night (3-for-15).

The Bears opened the contest with a scorching start, outscoring the Musketeers 22-4 in the game's first 7:29. However, Xavier rallied behind senior center Kenny Frease (18 points) and trailed by just seven points heading into the locker room.

Overall, Xavier senior guard Tu Holloway finished with a game-high 22 points in his final collegiate contest, while junior guard Mark Lyons added 16.

Unfortunately, for Baylor, who at one pointing the first half led 22-4, Acy has headed to the bench with three fouls and may not be able to be as aggressive for the remainder of the game.

So far, center Kenny Frease leads all scorers with 14 points for Xavier, which has missed all of its 10 3-point attempts.
