Led by the brilliant play of former signal caller Robert Griffin III, the Bears stunned Oklahoma last November in a thrilling game, 45-38. Griffin's game-winning touchdown pass with just eight seconds on the clock not only halted the Sooners' lofty national title hopes at the time, but also helped Griffin sway the majority of Heisman Trophy voters to his side once and for all.
While Baylor has quickly fallen back to Earth without Griffin in the fold in 2012, senior quarterback Nick Florence is still doing his best to pile up big numbers in the passing game. Florence has already toppled the 3,000-yard passing mark after just eight contests, and sports an impressive 25-to-11 touchdown-to-interception ratio with five more rushing scores to his credit.
Facing an Oklahoma team that was recently beaten by Notre Dame and then struggled to grab a first-half lead on a woeful Iowa State squad the following week, it appears the Bears may have a viable shot to pull off an upset if Florence and the offense can put forth a strong effort this Saturday.
