Two passing touchdowns from quarterback Nick Florence and a 35-yard field goal by Aaron Jones has helped the Baylor Bears take a 17-7 lead over the Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 Conference football game that has reached the end of the first quarter.

The Bears (3-4, 0-4 Big 12) scored the game's first 14 points thanks to a pair of touchdown throws by Florence. The senior found Terrance Williams on a 11-yard scoring play that capped a 11-play, 84-yard drive that came on the game's opening possession.

Then, after a defensive stop, Florence found Lache Seastrunk for a 68-yard catch-and-run. An extra point by Jones gave Baylor an early 14-0 lead with 10:09 to go in the first quarter.

Kansas (1-7, 0-5) trimmed the margin to 14-7 with a 58-yard rushing touchdown by running back James Sims.

Jones' field goal came with 3:57 to go in the first quarter and ended 10-play, 58-yard drive.
