Baylor vs. Kansas State 2012: Bears aim to play spoiler at home

Cooper Neill

The Bears have a chance to spoil a National Championship season for the Wildcats on Saturday.

The Baylor Bears welcome No. 1 Kansas State on Saturday, as the Wildcats continue their march through the Big 12 onto what the teams is hopeful to be a BCS National Championship appearance.

The Bears have won just a single game the past seven weeks, going 1-5 in conference play as the team has struggled in close games. Baylor was dominant against Kansas two weeks ago in a 41-14 win, yet failed to hang with No. 12 Oklahoma, with the Sooners pulling away in the second half in a 42-34 win in Norman.

Kansas State (10-0, 7-0), meanwhile, jumped into the top spot in the nation following Alabama's loss to Texas A&M and the Wildcats' 23-10 victory over TCU on Saturday. Led by Heisman-hopeful Collin Klein, K-State is currently projected to play Oregon in the National Championship game if the Wildcats can win out to finish the season.

Baylor will present a tough test for the No. 14 scoring defense in the nation, as Nick Florence and the Bears offense is No. 7 in the nation at 42.7 points per game this season.

Date/Time: Sat., Nov. 17, 7 p.m. CT

TV: ESPN

Odds: Kansas State is favored by 11.5 points.
