Superstar center Brittney Griner returns to lead the Lady Bears as the team tries to repeat as NCAA champions. That goal had the women's team introduced to a Mardi Gras theme as they plan to return to the Final Four in New Orleans this season.

The men and women paired up for a 3-point shooting contest which ended with Gary Franklin and Odyssey Sims beating Logan Lowery and Brittney Griner in the final round.

Junior forward Corey Jefferson won the dunk contest, beating out sophomore guard Deuce Bello who wowed the crowd to start the contest by jumping over 7-foot-1 freshman center Isaiah Austin.

Returning starter Brady Heslip took over the scrimmage by making three consecutive 3-pointers to lead his black team to a 23-21 win.

Baylor's men's team opens the season with an exhibition game against Abilene Christian on Oct. 25, while the women's team tips off against Oklahoma City on Oct. 30.
