Tom Ryle

Cowboys Columnist

I don't want to say I'm old - but sometimes in the morning my first thought when I look in the mirror is "Damn, Dad got out of the Home!" I don't remember LeBaron, but I do remember Dandy Don hitting Bullet Bob in full stride, and all the greats since then. I was born in East Texas, I spent 20 years as an Air Force officer with bad eyes - which meant I didn't fly, but I had a good career. I came back to the pine woods in 1998. I pride myself on being contradictory. I am a God fearing agnostic, I have never used illegal drugs (not counting alcohol consumed before turning 21) and believe marijuana should be legalized. I firmly believe in marriage, which is why I'm on my fourth one (but third wife). I believe in law and order, but think we have way too many laws. I'm also an Aggie. Which brings up the question of why Aggies don't eat M&Ms. Well, duh - they are too hard to peel.

Cowboys Vs. Dolphins: Questions Remain After Win

There were as many weak as there were strong performances on Wednesday, so it's still hard to say which players will make the 53-man roster cut.

Jerry Jones Takes A Step Back

While the outspoken owner still loves the spotlight, he's allowed Stephen Jones and Jason Garrett to take on a much bigger role over the last few years.

Rams Vs. Cowboys: Game Time, TV Schedule, Injury Updates And More

The third pre-season game is considered the most important of the NFL's exhibition season. What to watch for in the Cowboys game against St. Louis on Saturday night and where to watch it.

Dallas Cowboys Are Jason Garrett's Team

For the first time since Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Jones has ceded control of the team to his head coach. That is no small accomplishment.

Cowboys Vs. Chargers: Plenty Of Positives In Loss

While Dallas let the game slip away from them in the second half, their first and second string players were much sharper than they looked against Oakland.

Morris Claiborne, Brandon Carr Bring New Element To Defense

The secondary has been the Dallas Cowboys Achilles heel for years, but that should change after the team added two high-profile CB's in the off-season.

Cowboys Vs. Raiders: Dallas Suffers Through Win

The interior of the offensive line was the biggest concern on a night when very little went right for the Cowboys offense.

Cowboys Linebackers Should Be Much Improved

With former second round pick Bruce Carter and free agent acquisition Dan Connor now next to Sean Lee in the middle, the Cowboys could have a dominant front seven in 2012.

Cowboys Defensive Line Returns Intact

The defensive line, led by Jay Ratliff, should remain one of the strengths of the Cowboys defense for at least one more season.

Offensive Line Holds Key To Cowboys Season

While Tyron Smith should continue to improve after an excellent rookie season, the Cowboys are depending on late round draft picks and underachieving veterans on the interior of their line.
