The Bears came out of the gates smoking and will look to keep the heat on the Cowboys in the second half.

The Baylor Bears smell upset. The Oklahoma St. Cowboys are now in a fight.

The Bears lead the Cowboys, 31-17, at halftime of their Big 12 game on Saturday in Waco.

After the Cowboys got on the board first, the Bears reeled off 21-straight points from the 8:05 mark of the first quarter to the 14:31 mark of the second, including a 26-yard interception return by Eddie Lackey, a Glasco Martin 2-yard touchdown run and a Nick Florence 75-yard touchdown pass to Tevin Reese.

Down 24-3, the Cowboys woke up and scored twice on a touchdown run by J.W. Walsh and a touchdown pass from Clint Chelf to Josh Stewart. But Florence answered right back with a short touchdown run to extend the Bears' lead.

Florence is already putting on a show with 225 yards on 16-for-25 passing and a touchdown. He also rushed for 62 yards on nine carries and a touchdown to lead the Bears in rushing. Reese has 108 yards on five receptions and a touchdown for the Bears.

The Bears are picking up yards and a late score got them right back in the game.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders lead the Baylor Bears 21-14 at halftime of their Big 12 rivalry game in Lubbock.

The Red Raiders have never trailed after scoring the first two touchdowns of the game on a Seth Doege 19-yard touchdown run and a Kenny Williams 5-yard touchdown run, both in the first quarter. The Bears answered with a Glasco Martin 1-yard touchdown run at the end of the first.

The Red Raiders built on their lead early in the second quarter on a 3-play, 75-yard drive culminating in a 23-yard touchdown pass from Doege to Eric Ward. The Bears were able to close out the half with an 8-play, 93-yard drive that ended in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Nick Florence to Levi Norwood.

Both teams are putting up offensive numbers. The Bears have outgained the Red Raiders 398-333, but five penalties for 60 yards have not helped.

Lache Seastrunk has 113 yards on 11 carries for the Bears and Doege has 242 yards on 16-for-18 passing, one touchdown and an interception for the Red Raiders.

The Red Raiders are 7-4, 4-4 in the Big 12 while the Bears are 5-5, 2-5 in conference.

The 23rd-ranked Texas Longhorns and 18th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders are in a battle for bragging rights as they end the first quarter of their Big 12 matchup with the Longhorns leading 14-7 in Lubbock.

The teams are going back and forth with the Longhorns starting off the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown pass from quarterback David Ash to Jaxon Shipley. The Red Raiders answered with a Kenny Williams 1-yard touchdown run before the Longhorns finished the quarter scoring with a Joe Bergeron 2-yard touchdown run.

Ash finished the first quarter with 105 yards and a touchdown on 5-for-5 passing. His counterpart Seth Doege has started strong as well with 115 yards on 8-for-13 passing.

The Red Raiders came into the game averaging 357.9 passing yards per game and 40.5 points, so for the Longhorns to hold them to 151 yards and seven points is an accomplishment in itself.

Both teams come into the game with records of 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12.

The Texas Longhorns nearly lost in Lawrence, but the Kansas Jayhawks allowed a touchdown with 12 seconds left. Texas emerged with a 21-17 victory.

The Texas Longhorns were almost a victim of one of the biggest upsets of the season but were able to come-from-behind late in the fourth quarter to beat the Kansas Jayhawks, 21-17, in Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday.

The 23rd-ranked Longhorns used two big throws by backup quarterback Case McCoy to set up a short 1-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Grant with 12 seconds left to steal the win and send a disappointed Jayhawks team to the locker room in defeat.

Jayhawks running back James Sims was able to rush for 176 yards on 28 carries to carry a Jayhawks offense that depended on a dominant running game to keep the Longhorns offense off the field as much as possible.

Running backs Tony Pierson and Christian Matthews both scored touchdowns for the Jayhawks and were instrumental in adding to the Jayhawks 234 total rushing yards. Running backs Marquise Goodwin and Joe Bergeron scored for the Longhorns who also got 107 yards on 17 carries from Johnathan Gray. But two interceptions thrown by quarterback David Ash didn't help the Longhorns.

McCoy came in for Ash late in the fourth quarter and promptly went 5-for-7 for 68 yards and the winning touchdown.

The Longhorns are now 6-2 overall, 3-2 in the Big 12 and the Jayhawks are 1-7 overall, 0-5 in the Big 12.

Box Score Hero: The Jayhawks' James Sims may not have touched the endzone but his 176 yards on 28 carries dominated the game and gave the Jayhawks the ability to keep the Longhorns' offense off the field.

Rankings Ramifications: The Longhorns may fall out of the rankings even with the win due to how they got it but it depends on what the other teams do around them.

But Did They Cover?: Um, no. The Longhorns were 23-point favorites and ended up barely beating a 1-win team.

Next Scheduled Games: The Longhorns visit No. 14 Texas Tech Red Raiders on Nov. 3 and the Jayhawks will travel to face the Baylor Bears.

The third quarter between the Texas Longhorns and the Kansas Jayhawks has been all about the defense. But it's been the Jayhawks' defense stepping up more than the Longhorns as the Jayhawks still hold a 14-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter of their Big 12 contest in Lawrence.

The Longhorns got the ball to the 6-yard line of the Jayhawks on their first possession of the second half but was unable to score. The Jayhawks were able to make a stand on 4th and goal from the 1-yard line, stopping Longhorns running back Joe Bergeron for a loss.

The Longhorns' defense has done its part, forcing the Jayhawks into a punt during their first possession of the second half.

But the Jayhawks recovered what looked like a fumble with 2:39 remaining in the third and then Lubbock Smith picked off Longhorns quarterback David Ash on the very next play after the Longhorns had again entered the red zone.

The Kansas Jayhawks are halfway to shocking the 23rd-ranked Texas Longhorns in Lawrence, leading the Longhorns, 14-7, at the end of the first half of their Big 12 contest.

Texas led after the first quarter, but it was all Jayhawks in the second. Christian Matthews' 15-yard touchdown run tied the game with 12:06 remaining and Tony Pierson followed it with an 11-yard touchdown run with 7:16 remaining to give the Jayhawks the lead.

Kansas' running game is the story in this one. Led by James Sims, who has amassed 139 yards on 14 carries in the first half, four running backs have gotten carries. As a team, they have rushed for 177 yards, which allowed the Jayhawks to dominate time of possession (17:42 to 11:17).

The Jayhawks entered the game 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the Big 12 and knocking off the Longhorns in this manner would be a gigantic boost for Kansas, as well as an equally-sized blow to the Longhorns.

Bryant will play on Sunday against the Panthers despite battling a groin strain.

According to a tweet from ESPN's Adam Schefter via Ed Werder, the Dallas Cowboys expect wide receiver Dez Bryant to start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Bryant did not participate in Friday's workout due to a groin strain and was listed as questionable. Bryant has apparently dealt with soreness for some time now and his absence on Friday wasn't a result of anything that happened in practice on Thursday.

Bryant being able to go keeps Kevin Ogletree as the third receiver on the depth chart and allows Bryant to continue returning punts instead of Lance Dunbar or Dwayne Harris replacing him on special teams.

Bryant and fellow starting wide receiver Miles Austin have both dealt with injuries for the 2-3 Cowboys. Austin was held to two catches and just 31 yards receiving in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Austin is still dealing with a nagging hamstring injury but will play on Sunday.

Bryant has 34 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns this season.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are making it interesting as they lead the TCU Horned Frogs 21-20 at halftime of their Big 12 Conference game in Fort Worth, TX.

The Horned Frogs led 17-7 after Matthew Tucker's 4-yard touchdown run with 8:13 remaining in the half but the Red Raiders answered with a 4-play, 75 yard scoring drive that culminated in a 33-yard touchdown pass from Seth Doege to Darrin Moore to cut it to 17-14.

Then the Red Raiders recovered an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff and were able to score on a 29-yard touchdown pass to Eric Ward from Doege that was originally ruled an incomplete pass before it was overturned, giving the Red Raiders a 21-17 lead.

The Red Raiders have still not been able to run the ball against the TCU defense but have managed to stick around behind Doege's play (159 yards passing, 3 TDs). TCU has a much more balanced attack with quarterback Trevone Boykin (135 yards passing, 1 TD, 1 INT) and four players combining to give the Horned Frogs' running game its 110 yard total.

Catalon.

Both teams come into the game with identical records of 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12. This is a big test for both teams as the Red Raiders look to prove their status as a top 20 team and the Horned Frogs looked to continue their strong start to their first season in the Big 12. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2006.
