Like watching people perform acrobatic impossibilities in the air? Then tune in to Saturday's NBA Slam Dunk Contest on TNT.

The NBA All-Star game is back in the Lone Star State, meaning those who make it out to the Toyota Center Saturday will be treated to the high-flying affair known as the Slam Dunk Contest.

Each conference will have three players this year's challenge with Indiana's Gerald Green, Toronto's Terrence Ross and New York's James White representing the East and Los Angeles' Eric Bledsoe, Utah's Jeremy Evans and Denver's Kenneth Faried representing the West.

Although Evans is back to defend last season's title, most oddsmakers have White as a 5-4 favorite in the contest. Green, who also won a slam dunk title of his own back in 2007, is the third favorite at 4-1 behind the field's youngest competitor, Ross.

The scoring and rules for the event can be found here.

Time: 8:30 p.m. ET (fourth event in the All-Star festivities)

If there's any good that came out of TCU's 17-16 loss to Michigan State it's that the fan base will never have to watch Skye Dawson muff punts ever again.

A very forgettable season for the TCU Horned Frogs ended Saturday with Michigan State coming out on top victorious, 17-16, in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Not surprising to any fan of the purple and black was the fact that WR Skye Dawson once again muffed another punt, this time to set up a Le'Veon Bell four yard rushing touchdown that would give MSU their first lead of the game. With this being Dawson's last season, he finishes his career with five consecutive games featuring a muffed punt. So as you might expect, HawkeyedFrog of Frogs O' War wasn't too sad to see him go:

"Today is the last time I will type "Skye Dawson" and be referring to an active TCU football player...the lion's share of the blame [for Saturday's loss] does lie at the feet of punt returner Skye Dawson."

Ouch. Good ol' HawkeyedFrog did add that you can't put all the blame on Dawson with the way TCU's offense "went to sleep" in the second half. But he does believe Dawson helped waste an excellent performance from the Horned Frog's defense.

The Baylor Bears continued their nightmarish season Saturday evening, losing their fourth straight game as the Iowa State Hawkeyes rolled, 35-21.

Last year's magical 2011 campaign now seems light years away and Our Daily Bears shared that sentiment in their post game recap. Mark C. Moore claimed "the Year of the Bear is dead," calling 2012 "an absolute disaster" before getting into further detail on his feelings from Saturday's game:

"Tonight, we saw the first true dropoff from 2011 in an offense that actually contributed far more to the loss than the defense, which obviously had its own struggles. When we needed points we couldn't get them. When we had a chance to keep the game close in the first half and third quarter we couldn't do it. Losing to Iowa State was 100% a team effort."

The Bears only managed 115 yards on 30 carries against Iowa State which is a far cry from the numbers Robert Grififn and company were putting up last year on the ground. Senior QB Nick Florence continued to put up gaudy numbers (426 yards, two touchdowns, one interception) but good portion of that came in garbage time.

As for the defense, they allowed 557 total yards with the Hawkeyes going on long drives that had them holding the ball for over 17 more minutes than the Bears.

The TCU Horned Frogs dropped their second straight game but unlike last week's triple overtime game against Texas Tech, Saturday's game wasn't even close.

TCU jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead before allowing 36 unanswered to Oklahoma State with the Horned Frogs' offense going 2-for-14 on third down. As one might expect, the fine gentlemen over at Frogs O' War weren't too ecstatic about the results when they took another look at the game for some good old fashioned postgame analysis.

Contributor Hawkeyed Frog called the Big-12 battle "an ugly, ugly game" and one that was "very reminiscent of the Iowa State game" from earlier in the year. Hawkeyed Frog did believe that the game could have went much differently though if the Horned Frogs were able to get it going early:

"TCU failed to capitalize on its early success. Two possessions in Okie State territory on each side of the Olabode interception of Lunt resulted in no points, as the Frogs went backwards after recovering a fumble on a kickoff return. Think the game turns out differently if TCU's lead was 21-0 or 20-0? Absolutely."

Jamie Plunkett went on to say that the Horned Frogs' offense was "the worst thing I've seen on a football field since I watched the Cowboys game last week."

Ouch. If you haven't heard enough, pay a visit to Frogs O' War for some more dedicated coverage of the Horned Frogs.

After appearing lifeless, the Dallas Cowboys have come all the way back in the third quarter and now lead the New York Giants 24-23.

The Cowboys opened the half with a long, 11-play, 86-yard drive but the Giants held strong on their own 1-yard line. After Phillip Tanner was stuffed twice and Tony Romo missed his receiver on third down, the quarterback found pay dirt on fourth down when he kept it on a bootleg.

Dallas's defense then continued its dominance over Eli Manning and company, forcing a quick three-and-out. Still in their rhythm from the last drive, the Cowboys continued to dink and dunk as Romo relentlessly found Jason Witten open underneath. Romo then found John Phillips for a one-yard touchdown on a broken play to give Dallas an improbable 24-23 lead.

The Giants were finally moving the ball well on the last drive of the quarter but Danny McCray was able to steal an unlikely interception from Manning after the ball rolled off fellow safety Gerald Sensabaugh's backside.

The Cowboys were readying to punt the ball back to the Giants when the quarter ended.

The boo birds were out early and often at Cowboys Stadium Sunday but Tony Romo and the offense have rallied to cut the Giants' lead to 23-10 at the half.

The Giants jumped out to a quick 23-0 lead with Tony Romo tossing three interceptions, including a pick-six to Jason Pierre-Paul, in a series of four possessions. With Dez Bryant also putting a punt return on the ground, the Giants scored 20 points off Cowboys turnovers as Dallas' defense was forced to set up camp on the field.

But as Romo began to focus in on Miles Austin, the Cowboys offense was finally able to get back on track. Felix Jones capped off their best drive of the day with a four-yard rushing touchdown to put Dallas on the board for the first time.

After the Cowboys defense held strong once again, Bryant broke wide open on a blown coverage. But instead of hitting him in stride, Romo lofted up a duck that forced Bryant to turn all the way around, wasting an easy touchdown opportunity. The Cowboys were then forced to settle for a 51-yard field goal from Dan Bailey to put the score at 23-10.

The Cowboys will look to build on their late surge when they get the ball coming out of the locker room to start the second half.

It's hard to imagine a worse start for the Dallas Cowboys as the New York Giants lead 23-0 early in the second quarter at Cowboys Stadium.

The Giants looked determined for revenge from the opening kickoff as Eli Manning hooked up with Rueben Randle for a 56-yard bomb to set up a 41-yard Lawrence Tynes field goal.

The Cowboys' opening drive was the polar opposite with Tony Romo throwing a brutal interception to Stevie Brown on his sixth attempt of the game. With a short field, Tynes was able to easily drain another 37-yard field goal.

Romo's second interception came on his next pass attempt with Corey Webster getting in on the fun this time. Instead of settling for a field goal on this interception though, the G-men found pay dirt with running back Andre Brown pounding it in from one yard away.

After the teams traded some punts, Dez Bryant coughed up a punt to give Tynes his third field goal of the game. And just to continue with today's trend, Romo tossed his third interception of the day when the team got the ball back. Jason Pierre-Paul was the lucky recipient this time and the lanky defensive lineman took it to the house for a pick-six.

The Texas Rangers lead, 4-1, after forcing Oakland Athletics pitcher A.J. Griffin from the game in the top of the third inning.

Griffin had only allowed three baserunners (two walks, one single) to reach before the wheels started to come off at the start of the third.

Ian Kinsler began the inning with a leadoff single and Adrian Beltre sent him home with a single of his own three batters later. Then Rangers then proceeded to score three more runs all with two outs off a Michael Young RBI double, a David Murphy two-RBI single and a Geovany Soto RBI single.

Evan Scribner replaced Griffin and forced a ground out from Kinsler for the third out after the Rangers had gone through their entire lineup. Scribner also pitched another scoreless inning for Oakland with the game now in the bottom of the fourth.

Texas starter Ryan Dempster has allowed three hits and one earned run (off a Brandon Moss RBI double) with three strikeouts, through the first three innings.

No, not David Ash; try some fella named Eugene "Geno" Smith.

West Virgina's senior quarterback received 10 out of the 11 possible first place votes from the panel in Tuesday's polling, making it the third consecutive week that he has lead this particular Heisman survey.

Ash was able to sneak into the top ten being tied for tenth along with another Mountaineer, WR Tavon Austin.

Smith has 1728 passing yards on the season to go along with a sparkling 20-0 touchdown to interception ratio. Ash is having a solid year in his own right but isn't anywhere close to Smith when it comes to jaw-dropping statistics (1007 yards, 10 TDs, one INT).

Kickoff for this highly-anticipated Big-12 matchup is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST with the game being televised on FOX.

It's looking more and more likely that UTEP Miners head coach Mike Price won't be back with the team after this season.

Following their 28-18 loss to East Carolina, the UTEP Miners are sitting at 1-4, leaving many speculating that this could be the final season for head coach Mike Price.

Price is in the final year of his contract and with the team unable to tickets on a consistent basis (the Miners couldn't even sell out their opener against No. 4 Oklahoma) there isn't much incentive for UTEP to keep him around.

A small school like UTEP relies considerably on ticket sales so if facing a school of Oklahoma's caliber couldn't entice fans, it's hard to believe there's much ahead on the schedule that will get meat in the seats.

UTEP's final four home games are hardly of the marquee variety with the team going against Southern Methodist, Tulane, UCF and Rice. Unless fans begin to show up simply to rally for Price, which seems highly unlikely, it's looking like his destiny might already be set in stone.
