Serena Williams will be playing in her sixth U.S. Open championship, as she easily defeated Sara Errani in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Williams was extremely dominant against Errani, and heading into the match the Italian had been 0-3 against Williams.
Williams continued her streak of not losing a set during the entire U.S. Open, and this match was completed in a brisk 64 minutes. Williams dominated with her serve, scoring nine aces in the match.
Williams will now take on top-seeded Victoria Azarenka, who earlier in the day defeated Maria Sharapova.
