Texas No Longer Recruiting Ricky Seals-Jones, Per Report

Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas longhorns have backed off on their recruitment of Sealy High School prospect Ricky Seals-Jones. The wide receiver injured himself last week, dislocating his knee in a game televised by ESPNU.

The Sealy native and cousin of Eric Dickerson had recently said he was planning to make unofficial visits to Texas, Texas A&M and LSU and unofficial visits to USC, Oregon and other schools. The injury was not previously thought to impact his recruitment or his status as one of the top uncommitted players in the 2013 class. Seals-Jones is ranked the No. 1 wide receiver prospect on ESPN and Scouts.com.

The story was first reported by Hookem.com and later confirmed by multiple outlets.

Seals-Jones was originally committed to the Longhorns, but withdrew his commitment earlier this year.
