Neither starting pitcher made it out of the sixth inning. Matt Harrison lasted just four and 2/3 innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits while walking three and striking out three. Harrison did not factor into the decision.
Texas' offense touched up the much maligned Josh Beckett, who was lifted after giving up a two-run homer to Geovany Soto in the sixth inning. Beckett wound up giving up eight runs on eight hits, including three homers, while walking two and striking out two.
The score remained at 9-9 headed into the ninth inning, when the Rangers regained the lead. Elvis Andrus led off the inning with a walk, and a Josh Hamilton single put runners on the corners with nobody out. Adrian Beltre then hit a sacrifice fly, giving the Rangers the 10-9 lead they'd win by.
Hamilton was an offense force for the Rangers, going 3-5 at the dish with a home run and a triple on the day. Hamilton drove in four runs.
The Rangers will now return home, and after an off day on Thursday, open up a series against the Detroit Tigers.
