In a Tuesday press conference, passing game coordinator John Garrett said that three-year veteran Kevin Ogletree has the early lead:
"He's piling a couple of days together here that are really good," Garrett said. "He really has outstanding speed and quickness, and he has a unique ability to get off the line of scrimmage. Those things are showing up. The thing with Kevin is just continuing to improve and the ability to master the offense -- all the different routes, all the different positions -- and he's showing he can do that."
It's now or never for Ogletree, an undrafted free agent out of Virginia who has flashed talent but not consistency in three seasons with the Cowboys.
The 6'1 200 slot receiver has caught 25 passes for 294 yards and 0 TD's in his NFL career. With a host of even less-proven young players behind him, Dallas will need much more from Ogletree in 2012.
