2012 London Olympics: Team USA Women Trounce China 114-66

Mistakes were made (by the Chinese) and records were broken. (or tied, by the Americans) Team USA's women's basketball team tied a national record with a 114-66 trouncing of China on Sunda. The American women finished up pool play with a 5-0 record and are scheduled to face Canada in the knockout stages.

The Americans only had 31-28 lead at the end of the first quarter, but after a talking to from head coach Geno Auriemma and a rallying of the tropps, China would score just just 38 points for the rest of the game.

Diana Taurasi led all scorers with 22 points as this was by far her best performance of the Olympic games. Angel McCoughtry added 16 points and Maya Moore added 12 more points. Three other players scored in double figures as Tina Charles finished with 12 points and Candace Parker and Lindsey Whalen both had 10 points each.

China's leading scorers were Nan Chen and Xiaoyun Song, with 16 and 15 points respectively.
