Team USA Swimming: Brendan Hansen Wins Gold Medal As Part Of 400m Medley Relay

Former Texas Longhorn Brendan Hansen won his third medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games as he was part of the 4x100m medley relay team that won the gold medal with a time of 3:29.35. Team USA dominated the race and finished 1.91 seconds over second place Japan and 2.23 seconds ahead of Australia who won the bronze medal.

Hansen swims the breaststroke leg and in the finals he swam a split of 59.19. However, Japan's Kosuke Kitajima who has been Hansen's rival over the past decade helped get Japan from fourth to first after his breaststroke swim.

Michael Phelps swam the butterfly leg and helped the United States take over the lead after his swim, and then Nathan Adrian swam the freestyle leg and held off the competition to help win the gold medal for the United States.
