Former Baylor Bear Jimmy Walker had a good start in the first round at The Barclays by ending the day in the top five, but his second round performance took a dip as he shot a 3-over round of 74. For the two rounds he now sits at 2-under par, but he has dropped to a tie for 27th place after being in fourth place after the first round.
Walker's biggest struggles came on the ninth, 10th and 11th holes, where he proceeded to bogey each of those holes in succession. He also had a bogey on No. 3, but he did pick up a birdie on No. 4.
The second round is not completely over, and at this time he is six strokes off the 8-under leading pace of Nick Watney, who is done for the day, and Sergio Garcia (who has two holes left).
