2012 Barclays: Watney, Harrington Lead With Mahan Set To Tee Off Soon

Nick Watney and Padraig Harrington are tied for the early lead at Thursday's first round of The Barclays at 6-under through 16 holes at Bethpage. Dallas native and former Oklahoma State golfer Hunter Mahan is set to tee off at 12:06 p.m.

Dallas resident K.J. Choi, from South Korea, isn't far behind the leaders after finishing his day with a 4-under 67. Fort Worth resident Rory Sabbatini struggled to a 4-over 75, as did former Texas A&M golfer Ryan Palmer.

Mahan is sixth in the FedEx Cup points race with two wins under his belt in 2012. He's behind behind Tiger Woods, Jason Dufner, Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson and Bubba Watson in points.

Scores of note in the early-going include Rory McIlroy at 2-under through 14, Tiger Woods at 2-under through 13 and Phil Mickelson at 3-under through 16.
