Texas football fans will have to wait for the Longhorns' game against Ole Miss this year to see their team on TV. That is, unless they have the Longhorn Network.
↵The controversial cable TV channel spearheaded by ESPN will broadcast the Longhorns games against Wyoming and New Mexico in 2012.
↵Somehow, I don't think demand to watch those glorified scrimmages will force cable companies around the state to relent. That is, unless Texas loses. That would send schadenfreude levels from OU and A&M fans through the roof.
↵But there is hope for the diehards who simply must see how David Ash looks as a sophomore, since there will almost certainly be a few sports bars in the Dallas area broadcasting the games. For that matter, there's a little thing called the internet where information "wants to be free" (i.e. bootleg streams).
↵Check back with SB Nation Dallas on Sep. 1 and Sep. 8 for a list of all the places you can legally watch the Longhorns and a nod and a wink towards the places where you can't.
