Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray could be a steal in your fantasy football draft.
The NFL preseason is nearly half over. The Dallas Cowboys open the regular season on Sep. 5 with a prime time division matchup against the New York Giants. Fantasy football general managers are scrambling to get ready for their league draft, if they have not already done so, which makes it a good time to take a look at the fantasy stock of a few local favorites among the running backs.
The top fantasy running back plays a few hours southeast of Dallas. Arian Foster of the Houston Texans has emerged as the consensus top running back and even the top overall player for most. Fake Teams, SB Nation's fantasy sports blog, put Foster on top of the first tier of running backs in its most recent rankings.
Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray sits in the second tier of halfbacks, ready to reward the patient general manager. This is what Fake Teams had to say about Murray:
Murray is on the rise. His broken foot was never really a concern, but at least it's reassuring to see he's claiming to be fully recovered. All signs point to him being featured and former first-round pick Felix Jones looks to be no more than a handcuff. Felix Jones is also expected to be used as a return which solidifies Murray even more.
Fakes Teams has rankings for all players and positions; check it out here. For more fantasy football news and analysis, check out SB Nation's fantasy hub.
