Stay connected for news and updates

Mike Olt's walk off pinch hit single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Rangers a thrilling 2-1 win over the Tigers. Olt pinch hit for the left handed Mitch Moreland against Tigers lefty Phil Coke. He fouled off several pitches before delivering the single past a diving Miguel Cabrera for the game winner.

The Tigers got on the board first with an Austin Jackson homer in the first inning off of Derek Holland. Texas tied things back up in the third on a Nelson Cruz RBI single off of Justin Verlander. The score would remain tied until Olt's heroics in the ninth.

Mike Adams picks up the win with 2/3 of an inning of relief. Holland was solid allowing one run and three hits in 7 2/3 innings. Holland struck out nine and walked just one. Brayan Villarreal takes the loss for the Tigers. Justin Verlander allowed seven hits and one run in seven innings of work for the Tigers.
