2012 Olympics: London's Opening Ceremony Draws Best Ratings In US For Non-US Olympics

Stay connected for news and updates

If you're an NBC executive, so far, so good for the 2012 Olympic games. Friday's Opening Ceremony drew excellent ratings in the United States. In fact, the ratings were the very best in the United States for any non-US Olympic games.

Unfortunately for us here in the United States, though, the Opening Ceremony was aired on tape delay, as NBC made certain that it was a prominent fixture in the Friday night primetime slot on each and every time zone.

It also bodes quite well for NBC that there's already such a huge interest in the Olympic games, as it's reasonable to deduce that interest in the games should be sustained over the next two weeks.

For more on the 2012 Olympic games, be sure to check out SB Nation's dedicated Olympic hub over the next two weeks.
