Mavericks free agent center Yi Jianlian is following in Yao Ming's footsteps as the latest Chinese NBA player to carry their national flag at opening ceremonies in the Olympics. Jianlian is expected to carry the Chinese flag in the Parade of Athletes portion of Friday night's festivities, as it's been reported by multiple outlets.

Jianlian hasn't exactly been a sensation in his time with the Mavericks and Jianlian's NBA career looks a bit bleak to understate it, but the 24-year-old is certainly key to the Chinese Olympic squad
