2012 British Open: Familiar Names Atop The Leaderboard

Royal Lytham and & St. Annes golf course in Lancashire, England is the site for the 2012 British Open and already, some of the biggest names and best players in the game of golf have positioned themselves atop the leaderboard on day one of the four-day tournament.

Australia's Adam Scott is the sole leader as he shot a six-under par, 64 on Thursday, but he has a lot of competition just nipping at his heels.

American golfer Zach Johnson is tied in second place after shooting a five-under par, 65 on the day. Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson and Steve Stricker are all tied for sixth place with three-under par, 67's, as well as international golf superstars Ernie Els from South Africa and Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy from Ireland.
