Matt Harrison wins his 10th game of the season despite pitching only five innings.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Matt Harrison pitched five scoreless innings in a 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies to earn his 10th victory of the season. The win for Harrison was his sixth in a row and matched the American Lead lead for wins. He lasted only five innings because of tightness in his lower back that caused soreness in his left hip.

The Rangers offense helped out Harrison by putting up two runs in the second and third inning. Center fielder Leonys Martin put the Rangers on the board first when he knocked in Nelson Cruz on a RBI double.

Shortstop Elvis Andrus came up to the plate next and hit another double which scored Martin, and give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Then in the third inning, Martin had a triple and put the Rangers up 4-0. That triple caused the Rockies to pull starter Alex White.

The Rockies relief pitching held the Rangers scoreless the rest of the way to give their team a shot. In the top of the ninth inning the Rockies scored a pair of runs of Rangers closer Joe Nathan to make it a 4-2 game, but Nathan pulled it together and closed out the inning to secure the Rangers win.
