A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville and delayed races at Churchill Downs.

The storms seem to have subsided recently as the races are scheduled to get back underway. The post time for the Kentucky Oaks has been pushed back to 6:20 p.m.

There is a possibility of storms dragging into Kentucky Derby day, but the most rain is expected in the morning before disappearing throughout the day, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
