Baylor Vs. Notre Dame, NCAA Women's Championship Halftime Score: Lady Bears Up 34-28

Stay connected for news and updates

The Baylor Lady Bears are half way to history, as they lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34-28 at halftime of the 2012 NCAA Women's National Championship game.

The win would push Baylor to 40-0, the first time a Division I men's or women's team has ever won 40 games in a single season.

Brittney Griner has been a factor already, notching nine points, eight rebounds and two blocks. She's been helped along the way by Destiny Williams and Odyssey Sims, who have each chipped in eight points.

Skyler Diggins, Notre Dame's superb junior guard, leads the Irish with nine points.

The Irish worked hard to front Griner throughout the first half, attempting to neutralize her touches in the paint. She scored 32 points in a regular-season meeting between the two schools, which Baylor won 94-81. Points haven't come as easy yet tonight, but Baylor is just 20 minutes away from championship glory.
