An appeal date before an independent arbitrator has been set for the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins to appeal the salary cap penalties they received for their actions during the NFL's 2010 uncapped season:

As part of the new CBA, Special Master Stephen Burbank will handle the grievance.
Many within the NFLPA are supporting the Cowboys and the Redskins appeal, as they see the penalties as tantamount to collusion. The CBA clearly stated that there wasn't a salary cap in 2010, but many NFL owners resented the high-spending ways of both NFC East teams for driving up the prices of their free agents.
The league will counter that both teams actions violated the "spirit" of the league's agreement, as the other owners voted 29-0 to uphold the penalties earlier in the off-season.
