Longhorns Shutout Texas State 2-0

Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas bullpen threw another superior game against the Texas State Bobcats Tuesday night, as four relievers combined for seven scoreless innings after a hitless two-inning start from freshman Dillon Peters.

John Curtiss earned the win with three shutout innings; Hoby Milner struck out three and allowed no baserunners in the 7th and 8th. After weeks of high octane performance, the Longhorns offense has quieted down in the past week, but the staff has stepped up and given up only eight runs in the last six games.

Texas scored in the 6th when Brooks Marlow doubled and was driven in by a Mark Payton single, and then tacked on another run in the following inning on doubles from Alex Silver and Jacob Felts. The ’Horns will return to Big 12 action Friday against Kansas at UFCU Disch-Falk Field at 7 p.m.
