Women's Final Four 2012: Baylor Advances Past Stanford With 59-47 Win

After a hard-fought first half that featured several wrinkles from the Stanford coaching staff that confused the undefeated Lady Bears, Baylor pulled away in the second half of their Final Four game, winning 59-47.

With the victory, Baylor is now one game away from a perfect season at 39-0. They will meet Notre Dame in the women's national championship game on Tuesday.

Brittney Griner, the Bears star center, never got going offensively, scoring 13 points on 3-9 shooting, as the Cardinal swarmed her with two and three defenders all night.

However, that strategy eventually backfired on Stanford, as the Bears guards were able to take advantage of the wide open looks they received in the second half. Terran Cordray and Odyssey Sims caught fire, combining to score 24 points, and giving Baylor the cushion they needed to advance.

The Bears played Notre Dame earlier in the season during non-conference play, winning 94-81 in a victory on the Fighting Irish's home floor.
