PHOTO: Ricky Williams Statue Unveiled At Texas' Spring Game

Stay connected for news and updates

Former Texas Longhorns running back Ricky Williams had his bronze statue unveiled on Sunday's Orange/White spring game. Williams became the second Texas player and third person overall to have their likeness etched out in bronze.

The other Longhorn player is another running back great in Earl Campbell, with former coach and stadium namesake Darrell K. Royal being the other, both who were there for the unveiling of the statue.

At Texas, Williams became the NCAA's all-time leading rusher with 6,279 yard, and he held that record for only one year. Williams also won the 1998 Heisman Trophy leading Texas to a 9-3 record en route to a Cotton Bowl victory.

The statue will be on display on the grounds of Darrell K. Royal Stadium.
