Stay connected for news and updates

The Dallas Mavericks four-game losing streak came to an end when Dirk Nowitzki put up a season-high 40 points against the Utah Jazz in their 102-96 win. The Mavericks build up a 23-point lead in the third quarter and looked to have the game put away, but the Jazz came roaring back in the fourth quarter to score 41 points to make this one close.

In the fourth quarter the Mavericks were leading by 19 points but the Jazz made a great run to get back in the game. The closest the Jazz would get to the Mavericks would be five points with under two minutes left in the game. The Mavericks would seal the win by making 7-of-8 free throws over the last 34 seconds.

This game also featured the return of Lamar Odom who sat out the last three games and rejected a stint to the Mavericks D-League team, and in his return he had nine points, five rebounds, three blocks and three assists.
