Small Capacity In Lucas Oil Stadium Costs NFL Money: Charean Williams

Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star Telegram had an interesting tweet Sunday before the Super Bowl:

This will be the fourth-smallest SB crowd in history at 68,000. Some $40 million less in ticket sales alone than NFL made last year.

While $40 million isn’t necessarily the be-all-end-all in this NFL world, this factor, combined with the capacity of Dallas-Ft. Worth to absorb a huge number of visitors and what is ordinarily nice weather, does make it easy to predict that the Super Bowl will be back in DFW before too long.

Let’s hope that a lot more icy road equipment is around, just in case.
