2012 Super Bowl Line And Odds: Patriots Are A Slight Favorite

The New England Patriots have been widely considered to be the better team heading into Super Bowl XLVI with the New York Giants being considered the team that got hot at the right time. When the betting lines opened the Patriots were a 3.5-point favorite, but since that first line was released it has shifted toward the Giants and the line has dropped to the Patriots being a 2.5-point favorite.

According to Odds Shark, the public has been betting the Giants heavily at 60 percent, however typically when the majority of the public bets one way the opposite result is likely to happen. A more logical reasons that the Giants have gained a point in the line is because of the ankle injury that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski suffered against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.

A few things to consider between these two teams is that the Patriots have lost their last three games against the Giants when favored and they have gone 2-6 against the spread when facing the Giants, so place your bets accordingly.

The one consolation that Dallas Cowboys fans can take into consideration is that they played both of these teams fairly close this year, but all three were loses with the season finale really stinging with the 31-17 loss to the Giant which knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs.
