Texas closed the game with a 16-6 run and grabbed a crucial 72-64 win over the Oklahoma Sooners. After taking a 64-62 lead with 3:17 remaining, the Longhorns scored six straight points to make the score 70-62 with just 1:33 left to give them some breathing room.
Oklahoma had little answers for Sheldon McClellan and J'Covan Brown. McClellan finished with a game-high 24 points while Brown added 22 points and five assists. Sterling Gibbs pitched in eight points off the bench and Myck Kabongo added nine assists and three steals.
Romero Osby scored 14 points and Steven Pledger added 13 to lead the Sooners. Andrew Fitzgerald and Cameron Clark finished with 12 each. Clark added 11 rebounds to lead the team.

The Texas Longhorns trail the Oklahoma Sooners 37-33 at halftime in a game that is critical to the Longhorns' NCAA Tournament hopes. At 8-8 in the Big 12, Texas is looking to climb above the .500 mark in conference play but will need to defeat the Sooners to do so.
Sheldon McClellan leads the Longhorns with 12 points in the first half while J'Covan Brown has eight. Sterling Gibbs came off the bench to add five. Texas was just 12-29 from the field in the first half and just 2-11 from three-point range.
